Welcome to Steinhatchee School
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Steinhatchee
School. We are thankful that you and your child(ren) will be a part of
our school family. We appreciate the confidence and trust you placed in
us by choosing to send your child to our school. Your child's safety and
well-being are our top priority. We believe in working hard and treating
each other with respect. This year all Taylor Schools will prioritize "Compassion - Unity - Resilience". Please help us reinforce
these values with your child at home.
Communication
is crucial to our success. A student binder will be used to
help students with organization and communication. Also, teachers are available through email using the format of first.last@taylor.k12.fl.us (for example jane.doe@taylor.k12.fl.us). The best way to
address any potential issue if communication through the binder or email isn't working, is a face-to-face conversation with the teacher or myself. If
you need to talk to a teacher, please call and schedule a conference
time. Teacher planning time is during PE (1:25 - 1:55 for K-2 / 2:00 - 2:30 for 3-5) and 2:30 - 3:00 for all teachers. We ask that
you give us 24 hours notice and share the area of concern. This helps prepare us
to address your concerns in a timely manner. If after a conference with
the teacher you feel that you still have unresolved issues, please let me
know. When we all work together we can achieve great things.

On March 7th, Scott Mixon, Georgia-Pacific Public Affairs Manager, presented a $26,000 check to Superintendent of Schools Alicia Beshears to be used for STEAM (science technology, engineering, arts, and math), agricultural, and trade skill education at several schools within the Taylor County district. “Every year, we have increased our donation to Taylor County Schools because every year the teachers and faculty find ways to do more to educate students and prepare them for their future,” Mixon said. “On behalf of Georgia-Pacific, I would like to express our appreciation to the leadership teams and teachers for their tireless effort towards educating children in Taylor County."
